Yes, I agree. I think Pac beats Oscar at 140, and I think he is a better fighter all-round. I'm not sure if Pac could beat the best version of Oscar at 147 though. I think Pac is only above 140 for the big money fights, I think he could easily make 140 and would be at 140 now if it wasn't such a ghost town.

Yeah, i wasn't really asking who'd win in a fight. Just asking at their best who is better. If you think that Pac is at his best at 147 then yeah you can make the hypothetical match up call, if not then it's a pound for pound assessment like for you.

I even reckon he'd probably beat Oscar prime for prime. Oscar could win though.

yeah, oscar is good in riding his bicycles..

pacquiao was go down fighting and bloody. De la hoya rode his bicycle and quitted.

easily, pacquiao deserves to have greater legacy unless you count how many asses DLH lured to buy his fights

Whitaker would win at all 3 weights. I do think it would get closer the further up you go though. Whitaker was a better fighter at lightweight than he was at welter thats as clear as day. His movement wasn't quite as good the further up he went. Therefore i see pacquaio having more sucsess landing his shots at welter than he would at lightweight.

Still pea is just a horrible styles match up for pac, and for me takes it at any weight

I made it in jest, though. Pac would be in the fight due to his speed, but his technical deficiencies, most apparant when overeager against a man on the backfoot, would re-emerge here bigtime. Look for Pea to keep him off-balance, landing a plethora of jabs, and for Pac to tangle his feet from time to time.

Whitaker UD is my honest assessment.

Funny thing is I see Pacman losing to Whitaker at 135 and 140, but maybe winning at 147, although the Whitaker who fought at 147 was getting older. Pacman would have a hard time beating Whitaker. Whitaker would not give him the openings all the other guys did. Whitaker by a pretty far margin or victory in a UD.

I think I'm leaning towards a Whitaker win at 135 for sure, and likely at 140, but a Pac win at 147. I want to hold out to see how he handles a Mayweather fight there before I commit to it, even though that takes a bit of fun out of speculating about it now. :!:

Let's not forget that both men have never faced one as good or the same style as the other; I don't think it should necessarily be the one-way street where that fact only gets pointed out on Manny's end of things.

I still maintain that prime Oscar would beat the stuffin' out of any version of Manny Pacquiao. That size coupled with his own shoe shining prowess, left hook power, spells trouble for the Filipino sensation.
