Hurtado is a good shout. That was a barbaric display of finishing!

Breland does not have the legs to keep Whitaker outside for long durations, nor does he have the offensive variety to help in that regard.

Whitaker will struggle regardless with the disadvantages in height and reach, but I can't see it being enough to lose him the fight.

One guy I can see Breland beating though is Floyd Mayweather.

With Floyd's sparse welterweight punch output and his non-willingness to exchange in close, he could find himself getting outpointed by Breland.

Still probably wouldn't write Floyd off, but he'd have mighty problems imo.

I think Floyd would take it to him as well. He'd have to take the fight first, though.

Maybe for patches, down the stretch. I can see him hanging on the outside way too much though.

You're right though, Floyd should have an asterisk next to all his hypothetical fights due to his reluctance to take fights.

Whitaker would outbox Breland for the simple fact that Whitaker was better than him. Breland had more height and reach and power, but in the end, Whitaker's defense and sped and boxing skill would have nullified all that.

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. would have avoided Whitaker like the plague. Too difficult of a matchup for him.

Agreed. The consistency of Pea's jab would be enough to offset everything Floyd tries to do. Chuck in his chin, offensive variety, ability to take the fight at different ranges, body punching etc etc and it's a nasty matchup for Floyd.
