Pea Whitaker gives Margo the boxing lesson of the decade while he clowns Margo and makes him quit out of frustration in the ring. This would be a clinic to the highest level.:deal

 

You will be able to count on one hand the number of times Margarito lands cleanly on Pernell in this one as he gets pasted with Pernell's own shots all night. This goes to the scorecard because Whitaker would lack the power to stop Margarito, but it's a wide decision. Very wide.

 

Margarito catches Pea with a right hand late in the fight. Pea falls. Pea stays down. Knockout victory for Antonio.

 

gotta go with pernell. although i think the fight would be closer then people expect. but still with sweet pea winning comfortably.

 

It's call body head shot's that wear you down son learn some BOXING and STOP making **** up.

You forget, Margarito automatically loses every fantasy matchup because he bailed out of a fight everybody would have criticised him for taking anyway.

By the way, I was there for that fight in MSG; Tito vs Pernell. It was a a very good fight, but as you said, physically shot. Alot of his old tricks like lowering his body so far down that you basically can't hit him did not work. Tito just jumped on him. Some of these welterweights, as you mentioned already Rivera were kind of big for him as he came up from LW. Tito, Hurtado, Oscar, and Rivera. I would have liked to have seen Pernell stay at 140 for a while. He just took Pineda's belt and belting up to 147. He was great a 135 and 140 if he had stayed there and unified. He was very good at WW. The Chavez fight should have been at 140 not the catch weight which it looked like with Chavez coming in at 142-3. Biggest robbery.

 

Why? Margarito has the size to trouble Pea, the workrate to catch Pea, and the power to hurt him. Pernell was really a lightweight at the height of his powers, and would be fighting the much bigger man. Margarito wins by knockout. :good

But isn't Margarito afraid of the fighter who shot Mayorga schooled for 12 rounds? Is he not pissing his pants at the thought of facing a fighter Cotto defeated?

 

Laughable. Whitaker lasted 12 rounds with Trinidad who hits much harder than Margarito at 147lbs. Trinidad could knockout and scatter the senses of fighters with two or three punches and they were never the same again for as long as the fight lasted.
