It's all loose speculation with these Pacquiao fantasy matchups above a certain size. I'll have to see how he fares over the next few years to really judge him at these higher weights. Too many question marks still remain, though I doubt I'd ever favor him over Pea just based on styles. Whitaker is all wrong for him.

 

Whitaker fought: Chavez, De La Hoya, Trinidad, McGirt, Vasquez, Nelson, Pendleton, Haugen, Ramirez, Mayweather, Pineda, Brazier, etc.

Pac has fought: Marquez, Barrera, Morales, De La Hoya, Hatton, Sasakul, Ledwaba, Singsurat, Diaz, Solis, Larios, etc.

I'd give the clear edge to Whitaker as far as opposition faced (as well as beaten if you include his fights with De La Hoya and Chavez as wins). Pac is a great fighter, there can no longer be any questioning of that, but the bulk of his ranking is in his weight jumping feats rather than his skill level or level of opposition. That speaks more of his physical capabilities than of his boxing ability to me. Still, he's without question great. As to how great I'm not yet sure. These next few years will prove a lot.

 

Manny is a bad ass but Whitaker is a slick guy. That is a tough one.
