I got sweet Pea taking it on PTS with his jab, but I have a feeling this may be the lowest landing fight in terms of punch stats we'd ever see

Pernell would have won and quite easily too IMO. Locche didn't have the offense, speed and footwork to trouble Pernell at all. Pernell's jab, constant movement, and higher workrate helps him cruise to a boring decision win.

Both missing lots but Pernell would adjust and work the body

Locche constantly had his back foot lifted off the floor at the heel making it easier for him to move his body to slip punches, Whitaker would land less punches of Locche than any other fighter that he ever fought.

I think that it might not turn out to be a fan friendly fight.

Locche will make Whitaker miss punches but he won't be able to land any of his own punches at all. It would be similar to the Lomachenko vs Rigo fight where Whitaker would use his faster feet and punch output to outbox and outslick Locche and reducing Locche's punches to single digit.

I'd probably favour Whitaker but he'd by no means win easily IMO.

Stylewise, Locche doesn't really have much to bother Pea with.

Locche's great defence would bother anyone.

What I mean is, sure, Locche makes anybody miss, including Pea.

But Locche didn't have the tools to really win rounds off Pea.

For example, Benitez was making Leonard miss a lot, but Leonard was still winning virtually every round.

Peppermint Frazier was able to beat Locche by staying on the outside and have Locche come to him. Whitaker would have done the same as well, making Locche chase him which was something he was not used to.

Locche had a better lead hand than most fighters that Pernell fought.
