Whitaker was better than Crawford and would have won clearly. Sounds like your friend knows the sport a helluva lot better than you do.

 

At 140, Crawford might have slightly more power, (it's hard to say) but Pea bests him in every other category, especially defense.

Did you see how many shots Horn landed on Crawford, in the first half of their fight? Do you think Horn could have landed them on Whittaker?

No contest, IMO, although Bud vs Pea would probably be a really entertaining fight.

 

I would have to go with Pernell on points in a clash of masters.

 

Whitaker wins all day, every day, twice on Sundays. Come on Whitaker was a stylistic nightmare for most fighters let alone a counter puncher like Crawford. Whitaker schools him, too fast, too elusive, quite simply just too good.

 

Putting the likely result to one side, I can't see the stylistic similarity at all...

Sweet Pea is one of the few people I would favour to beat Crawford.

Pernell for the win. But damn it, its such a salivating matchup. Makes my hairs stand up thinkin about it. I enjoy mythical fights being discussed on forums like this. Everyone has an opinion but we will just never know. Fun reads thru out on different perspectives and outcomes. Nice thread and even more compelling fight

 

Pernell wins a wide UD.

Bud is top tier but not only has he never fought a guy remotely close in talent as Sweet Pea but he stylistically matches up badly against him.

PW 118-110 type fight.

 

Bud is far better counter puncher than anyone Pea faced, Pernell was caught with a lot of counters by inferior fighhters to Bud, Crawford is too good for the 90`s era.
