I'am with El Radar on this as he's got more bang at WW:bbb It would be like watching 2 eels fight & an absolute dream:smoke
It's a really tough call. Benitez is the taller, rangier guy with more pop, and naturally bigger than Pete. Whitaker on the other hand had the better jab and stronger workrate, and in a matchup of styles those may be the key factors. Both were very good on the inside, but again, Whitaker's higher workrate may give him the edge there as well. That jab would serve him well particularly if he were going to be the one forcing the initiative, which I think he would. When faced with fighters who were less than punchers, and even against a fair few, Whitaker was typically the aggressor behind the jab. That may give him the edge here.
And there you have it. I think that would be the most telling element. Whitaker would let his hands go more and he'd win by decision because of it. Then again, welterweight was more naturally Benitez's weight than Pea's. But I think the workrate factor would be the key.
I'm glad nobody has yet picked anybody by knockout. Because I think these guys could fight about 500 times in a row before we got a knockout.
