I thought Pernell Whitaker won it pretty clearly IMO.
Not controversial. Even Rivera's manager, said after the rematch. "Whitaker won without doubt and he's the best fighter of the last 20 years in my opinion" Not one piece of controversy hung over this fight.
I don't see any controversy over Whitaker/McGirt I either, other than Whitaker coasting in the later rounds, tightening up the scores.
IMO his only controversial win was Rivera I. He very clearly won the 2nd fight and even though he just played around in the final rounds of the first McGirt fight, he was clearly ahead. No controversy at all there as far as I'm concerned. Chavez and Ramirez I were robberies, and DLH could be argued either way, I had Pernell winning.
