I wouldn't say he dominated McGirt in thier first fight. It was fairly close.

 

Whitaker was a great fighter for sure, makes my top 10, I think Pep was a better pure boxer tho & had a little better defence.

Id probably pick Whitaker but in a close, likely debateable fight, I think it would be much closer than people think & in all honesty, I would not be suprised if FMJ won a close decision.

I think Floyd holds the edge in both power & speed too.

 

Pep was a fabulous boxer, you dont get any higher than Willie Pep when discussing `boxers.`

 

Yeah i was only kidding with my post, you were all supposed to say 'Whitaker schools Floyd' or something, i'm bored sorry.

Anyway, the only thing is that i've never seen Mayweather fight a quality outside man, we know what happens when good fighters go right to him, his defence has been near impregnable throughout his career. So who knows, i'll pick Whitaker to offset Floyd, you see when Floyd has a man standing off him he steps in and out with combos and sets up punches being clever. But Whitaker has the reflexes and generalship meaning he won't just be there to eat the shots. Both fighters are on the same level for my money, both of the highest order of performer. But i reckon Whitaker would win.

Floyd has faster hands.

Escalera 1 I think. Could be wrong. In the 2nd fight Alexis is wearing the plain burgundy velvet shorts if I remember correctly. Isn't Esalera wearing green trunks in the first fight. Don't have my DVDs to refer to :good
