Yeah it's hilarious. Sometimes fans just want to tally up punches and ignore everything else and other times they say that punch stats mean nothing and it seems to depend entirely on who the fighter is and who they are rooting for

 

Like in all seriousness, the faces of the two fighters tell the story. Like how did Persoons face get in such a mess? Her face looked like a piece of meat that had been put on a butchers block and beaten with a mallet. Katie's few bruises were largely the result of Persoons head and elbows, certainly not from clean punches landed. If Katie wasn't doing the damage, then who was? The ref? Was she being beaten up in her corner? Come on people!

Katie even won the physical side of the fight? Wow, even I would not go that far. Obviously a huge Katie can. Persoon is freakishly tough but she was decisively beaten by a wider margin than first time......

 

Persoon is one tough tough tenacious lady.

In her day job i don't think the crims would be wise to resist arrest, as she would not give up the fight until they were cuffed.

I think Persoon won first bout, but that Taylor just edged the second

Everytime Pearson threw both their head came together lucky Katie is shorter and she wisely lowered her head to intercept Pearson face. It's that simples! Those marks on Pearson was not cause dby Katie Taylors punches for the most part of the contest it was the head and face coming together.

 

No that is not what happened. SOME damage undoubtedly did happen this way, on both sides. But Katie didn't destroy Persoons face in two fights with her head alone. Mostly it was punches. Round after round, punch after punch. Katie didn't find Delphine hard to hit.!!

 

I didn't see either Taylor-Persoon fight so couldn't comment on the action, but Persoon herself afterwards said the result in the second fight was fair, didn't she? She mentioned perhaps moving down to super-featherweigjt too, iirc.

I reckon a lot of people on this here forum don't actually watch the bouts they're talking about.

 

This^^ Kudos to the brutish style of Persoon being lifted up to top level by sheer physical prowess, determination and toughness, but she lost this fight. That's speaking as a Belgian myself, who would've loved to see all those belts on her.

She won the first fight though.

 

She is damned exciting to watch, any opponent better be on form for every second of every round or else.
