And if you keep telling yourself you haven't made it painfully transparent you're an alt I'm sure you'll come across someone stupid enough eventually who might believe you.

Haven't I already exposed you for doing this recently? :think

Heavyweight division is only better than perhaps 115, 135... and that might be it.

Literally one of the worst in the sport and has been for years. Why? A lack of quality fighters.

No, what makes you say that?

Regarding the current era, I think it's weak. Wlad's a great fighter, but it appears that there isn't much competition out there for him.

He hasn't lost for ten years, and that needs to be respected.

But I can't envisage any version of Wlad going ten years undefeated in the other eras that I've mentioned.

    But I respect your opinion.

Loudon, this turned into a good thread. My props to you for keeping it civil and objective. I know I oftentimes go into hyperboles when I shouldn't. Again, good thread although of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Do not forget there is more competition today than back in the 1960's. You cant ignore the number of countries who compete in boxing now.:happy

    I misread your post.

    You're talking about depth.

    That's fair enough.

After those four fighters, you'd got guys like Brewster, Rahman and Ruiz etc.

But wouldn't it be great if we could have an active Vitali, Lewis (even just for three to four years) Holyfield (who was still capable) and Byrd etc.

I'd rather see Wlad fight those guys, instead of the likes of Povetkin etc.

    Thanks man.

It's great having a difference of opinion.

That's what makes it a great debate.

After all, nobody is right or wrong.

I do try and be civil and respectful, but it's hard sometimes.

Wlad makes good fighters look ordinary.

2014 has been a very good year for the Heavyweight division.

You have a dominant champion facing his #1 contender, defeating him decisevely in a good fight.

You have two top 10 heavyweights in a great heavyweight fight with another decisive win. (Povetkin vs Takam)

You had another great brawl for the one vacant belt earlier in year in Stiverne vs Arreola

You had a potential fight of the year between two veteran heavies trying to stay in the title picture in Cunningham and Mansour.

Plus you have young talent in Joshua and Parker being brought along nicely.

Hopefully this Saturday gives us one more great fight.

    A very good year indeed.

Looking forward to Fury-Chisora. If Furry wins, I hope he is Wlad's next opponent. Would be a more interesting match-up then Jennings, who has little or no chance vrs. Wlad would get KOed in highlight reel fashion. The same goes for Fury, of course, but KOing Fury would add more to Wlad's resume than KOing Jennings.

While Wlad is busy with the Fury/Gsora winner, Jennings should fight Povetkin, and the winner of that fight should fight the Wilder/Stiverne winner. All these fights, taken together, would produce a new order of rank in the division.

I want him to fight Fury next. Wlad would demolish him better than Pulev.

    Wlad destroys big fighters.

If Fury wins they will most likely wait until summer time so they can get the extra revenue from a big stadium fight. Fury will then be mandatory and get I believe a guaranteed 25% cut from the purse so this will make a difference to him.
