New opponent for Mark in Dominque Alexander.

Tough one first back & completely different to Hicks who he was training for.

    Big test IMO

So many heavyweights in NZ and Oz, why go to the expense of flying in international (African n US) nobodies that are hardly on the ratings radar. Why not an Australasian opponent or is it gonna be another try hard media circus no one is interested in like the last one. I think people be more interested and money better spent watch Green Machine Show couple weeks later. IMOHO

Mark de Mori: “We Have Three Opponents Lined Up”

Australian Heavyweight, Mark de Mori faces American, Matt Hicks at Cockburn Stadium, Western Australia on November 20th. The Australian has previously had problems with his opponents pulling out but has backup plans in case anything goes wrong with his upcoming fight, “We have three opponents lined up, as in the past things have fallen over at the last minute we now have plan A, B and C just in case. Currently the opponent is still Matt Hicks but we have two other fighters that know they could also be fighting me.”

In preparation for the fight Mark has been sparring with another Western Australian based Heavyweight Lucas ‘Big Daddy’ Browne who will also be on the card. “Lucas has a good jab and while we don’t throw bombs in sparring with 10 oz gloves on I wouldnt enjoy getting hit by him. We will be working together alot so its a huge benefit to both of us”, explained de Mori.

Mark who is now 29 years of age and falls under the Don King Promotions banner told Aus-Boxing.com “I have had fights in USA, Mexico and Australia planned only to be cancelled on the day. I havent stopped training and while there were certainly times where I was sick of boxing, I knew I couldn’t give it away yet. In 2003 I was really interested in the Pride fights in Japan and was learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but eventually I got bored with it and decided to focus 100% on boxing and turn professional. I think MMA is entertaining but its an insult to any sport when you think you can switch and become successful, you need to dedicate years and years to anything before you get results.”

‘The Dominator’ who is now in final preparations for his bout says, “right now I plan to fight November 20 and put on a great show of sexy boxing. Straight after I will get elbow surgery to remove 9 bone chips that have prevented me from straightening my left arm for the last year. Then I might take some time away from the sport.”

Tickets to Mark’s fight which includes 3 Heavyweight bouts can be bought by calling Riccardo on 0405 905 559.

HAHA - that will do me. Wake me up when Mark retires claiming he was robbed of being a World Champion due to pullouts and being signed to Don King.

very hard to take him seriously. he must have been happy with don king keeping him inactive during the first contract between them...as he re-signed with him, as you know.

now he talks about a layoff..???!! wow.:-(
