Pet hate? Is that a British thing? I've only ever heard 'pet peeve' before.

Refs that are scared to actually do their job and if necessary DQ a fighter, for excessive holding as an example.

Also refs that do not seem to understand fighters can fight on the inside, if an arm is free let them fight!

The whole promoting cold war is annoying aswell, the UFC approach is much better if impossible for boxing.

Jab grab style employed by wlad, bhop and ward...

Personalised Refs ( example Cortez - Hatton/Ortiz vs may )

Refs without balls, if u give a warning and its not adhered to take a point away.

I go on classic a bit and do comment, but you are right; these things can't be proved either way, and as a previous contributor said really a fighter can only be judged on his contribution in his own era.

I don't like people slating great fighters, either, for cheap points.

How no modern fighter is fit to lace up the boots of an old timer....

...when those fighters are viewed through rose tinted glasses.

Appreciate what we are seeing now aswell as the past.

The lack of accountability for poor judging performances. The sanctioning bodies (pretty much everything they do). Promoters letting personal feelings get in the way of making fights.

It also annoys me when any close fight is labeled a "robbery", any fighter who loses has been "exposed" and anyone who gets knocked down (or even worse - knocked out) is "glass-jawed" or a "fraud".

Excuses from fans about injuries incurred on their favorite fighter that affected them, when they are legal and the exact intent for the fighters...to inflict more damage on your opponent than he does you.

when a fighter is on a knee taking the count from the ref and he then decides to get up bang on 10 as though he wanted to continue fighting.
