Pete Petrella fought under his real name Frank Petrella. This is him although boxrec has his last name wrong:

He was a middleweight boxing out of the Teasdale Athletic Club which was run by Mike Capriano who also worked with Tami Mauriello and Jake. Pete/Frank appears to have gotten into boxing a little bit after Jake and turned pro a little after him. I found some of his amateur bouts but I could not find where he won the diamond belt in the same tournament that Jake won it against Jimmy Miller fighting as Jack LaMotta in late 1940. The earliest amateur fight of Petes I can find is from 1941 Pete was apparently a pretty hard puncher as an amateur but failed to develop as a pro. If you believe Raging Bull Pete quit boxing after getting a gunshot wound to his arm which gave him nerve damage although there is a lot of question about just how much of Pete's portion of Raging Bull was true seeing as how much of his character in the book seems to have been taken from Joey LaMotta (which is why the filmmakers opted to use Joey as the main sidekick for Jake and not Pete).
