Being Norwegian myself, i have a special interest in Sandstol. He is without a doubt the best Norwegian boxer of all time. His record on paper is very impressive: W96, L6, D8. Incredibly, he was never stopped. In fairness it should be mentioned that a lot of his wins were against opponents without very impressive records. However, he did face quite a few quality opponents as well: Panama Al Brown x 2 (L & W) Sixto Escobar (L) Young Perez (w) Midget Wolgast (L) Speedy Dado (D) Archie Bell (W) As a boxer he was apparently considered to be somewhat of a technical genius with unlimited stamina, but not a big puncher. How do you rate him and does anyone know if any film of him exisit (i have only seen a short sparring film of him before the second Panama Al Brown fight)?
Torgeir, I would suggest getting ahold of Ric over at boxrec.com . He is one of the editors over there and I believe he is also Pete's grandson. He is a treasure trove of knowledge on Pete.
