Why do you have Aerts number 1 when Hoost and Schilt accomplished far more than him? In addition prime Hoost was the BEST fighter iv ever seen in the K-1.
because I like him the most :deal I really like Hoost and truthfully I'd say he is the real #1 but I never really did like Schilt, I just don't like the way he fights.
Schilt was ugly to watch. But VERY effective. That said head to head in terms of accomplishments Aerts is still a distant 3rd or 4th compared to Hoost and Schilt.
Not distant 3rd or 4th. Aerts, Shilt, and Hoost are all very close in standing. they have all fought and beat the best fighters available to them but also both hoost and Aerts have large black marks on their records. Aerts does have longevity over shilt and Hoost (especially Shilt) which should also count for a lot. Sad to see a legend retire, but at least Aerts will have one more fight:happy
Good. Go into pro wrestling. There is a place for ex-fighters but they just need to embrace it - coaching, managing, commentating, appearances, pro-wrestling etc
I think Schilt was the strnest and most dominant champion, mainly because of his size and the way he takes advantage of it. I think Hoost was the most skilled one, great kicks and great hands, defense, strategy, motivation and he also retired with a great winning % on his record. Aerts was great as well, but he had more obvious flaws I think such as his defense against punches. They all had their losses and black spots. Hoost got KOed by Cikatic twice and never avenes those losses. Sapp has two wins over him as well. Aerts got clocked by Abidi and Leko.
Prime for prime Aerts always got the better out of Hoost [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0P7KIAiFKM[/ame] This one's very close but i had Aerts winning it after the 1st 3 rounds, the judges gave it to Hoost [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjkwhXG7CgI[/ame] Kings 1998 http://videos.sapo.pt/13fh5rs5MOYQgUcJHLVh Hoost wins came very early in career and that one last fight where he was supposed to fight Sapp in a rematch but Sapp didn't turn out so Aerts decided to save the card and stepped in from the comentary box overweight, with no training and a little bit drunk [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIyA5a2Dv-c[/ame]
Hoost did won one more GP then Aerts, but then again he had crazy luck in that 2002 WGP win. Anyway i have Schilt and Aerts tightly close on first 2 places
