Chris Byrd interview. Says he plans to stay at cruiserweight, lightheavy was too much for him. Next week Randall Bailey vs Frankie El Gato Figueroa. Personally I think Bailey has a real shot to beat El Gato.
ESPN had his whiskers colored in.... Blonde or Frost hair on black dudes doesn't seem to work well MR.BILL
In one of those epic fails, ESPN airs an interview with John Molina where you can HEAR someone caught in the background.
Molina looks very uncomfortable on the inside as Soto tags him early. Soto buries into the body, Molina getting roughed up but leaning on the ropes and weathering it. Soto is wild but active. Molina continuing to look uncomfortable...he REALLY needs distance. Vinan Soto bullying the younger fighter right now. If Molina gets space he's a dangerous fighter but he lets Soto bully him easily. Molina trying to time an uppercut but nothing so far. Soto and Molina brawling on the ropes, good action so far. Soto is pushing Molina but NOW Molina seems to be comfortable on the inside a little bit. Molina measuring Soto and trying for the uppercut. Soto bleeding from a cut and now he's getting popped with the uppercut at will. Soto is hutrt but keeps coming forward. Both fighters trip over one another andthe round ends with Soto on shaky legs. Tough round to score. Molina took over the 2nd half of the fight and had Soto hurt, was more effective over the stretch and while Soto scored points by bullying and landing, I never thought Molina was in danger. 10-9 Molina.
Round 2 begins the same way round1 ended. Soto trying to bully and Molina going for distance. Molina is now intelligently staying outside and Soto looks a little fatigued now. Molina has long arms but no accuracy, a lot of his punches are way too long and loopy to have the accurate snap. Soto is hurt again but he's still coming forward. Molina reminds me a bit of an unrefined Paul Williams...basically Williams around the time he faced off with Walter Matthyse. Molina keeps his hands moving and seems to be happy to trade on Soto. Soto's nose is all messed up at this point. Vinan Soto slowing down and Molina is LOOKING for that uppercut. One uppercut means the fight is over. Molina with NASTY right hands. Soto ready to go fellas. Soto slow and looping, Molina nailing froim the safety zone. Big right hand hurts Soto and THE REF STOPS IT! Molina wins TKO2.
