Remember these guys? Both used to be world titlists (Quillin at middleweight courtesy of the WBO for nearly two years with three defenses and ultimately abdicating due to issues making the weight limit; Truax with a flash in the pan four-month campaign which saw the IBF 168lb title hot-potato from James DeGale to him and then immediately completing the round-trip...) yet are hardly spoken of nor remembered anymore. Well, they're going to be front & center when they square off in this strange PBC on FS1 main event over 10 rounds from the Minneapolis Armory on April 13th.

I don't really know what to make of this. Kid Chocolate, since his loss to Jacobs and two year layoff and subsequent move up to SMW, has taken comfortable unanimous decisions over respected circa-.500 gatekeeper Dashon Johnson and, more notably, J'Leon Love. Truax, since losing the DeGale rematch, has sparked out some random Brazilian fellow (the Brazilian's fifth stoppage loss in seven bouts, and tenth overall). Both are 35 years old. Quillin is an inch taller but faces a 3½" reach deficit. This could go ten and be dull, or somebody - either one, really - could be highlight reeled in embarrassing (and, in this cannibalistic and puerile fandom, ostracizing) fashion. Both can hit, and both have serviceable but imperfect chins.

I'll go with Truax by decision. His career seems to be in a better spot and I believe he is the hometown fighter here right? This side of Quillin landing something huge I'd expect a workman like decision for Caleb.

These seem about equally likely to me. Should be worth watching.

Quillin stops Truax late, or wins a close UD, after a few rocky moments early.

Truax will force the issue on Quillin. I doubt it will be a dull affair. Might end up watching this one.

This is truly fascinating matchmaking... you have a guy that was born with all the natural athletic talent needed to be a force but with several damning flaws (chiefly a seeming mental fragility) versus a dirt-dog overachieving ham-and-egger.

I'm going for Truax, that guy can really take even good fighters to deep waters. Quillin to me, fights like a guy who's scared all the time. I don't think he can handle Truax.

Truax is like a tank that even when on it’s last track just keeps moving towards you.
I predict lots of blood and guts will be required by both to see the final bell and Kid Choc Choc has been running on empty for both over the last 18 months with the exception of the Love fight
