He "boxed" well against James Toney in the second fight, using a hard jab, countering him, and keeping a distance. Well see tonight if he is a really improved fighter. He shouldn't try to box with McCline - he should come forward at all times and pressure him. Don't try to be Lennox Lewis, try to be Joe Frazier tonight.

Peter is the real deal, he looked bad against Toney, but who doesnt look bad against Toney at Heavywieght. Toney already beat Guinn whos a capable fighter, as well as Holyfield and Ruiz. He had a close match with Rahman who has power and was unable to knock him down or out. Peter will win tonite by knockout Im even so sure of it that if doesnt knock Mccline out, I will be forced to leave ESB for a month.

Not a fan but I still can appreciate what he brings to the table. Iron chin, will and heart, relentless attacker, heavy hands, and confidence. Almost the polar opposite of Wlad who is supremely skilled but many feel lack some of those intangibles. He is pretty athletic and quick for a guy that size but I just don't see the improved skills his diehard fans are talking about.

Yes, he looked better against Toney in the rematch but IMO due to his better conditioning, hence, a much higher activity level. Let's no forget Toney was a stationary target and Wlad certainly was not. That being said, he always has a puncher's chance in any fight. I think his nuthuggers give him too much credit and his haters don't give him enough but I guess that's the story in every instance :yep

This event last night makes his stock drop, but now he's underrated. People are still stupidly picking Oleg Maskaev, who does even match up well with Peter to begin with, over him.

Maybe we'll get good odds now.

But yes, his skills are underrated, he's crude, but he's not skilless.

Was that post worth pumping life into an almost 5 year old thread?
