    Apart from his ability, Jackson impresses me by the way he carried himself. His headstone carries the inscription,"This Was A Man", how true.

    I feel a bit sad that it's only by extensive research you can appreciate guys from the 19th century.

    I must conclude the coloured title then was more a nomination than a title. Beating godfrey made him the coloured title holder but it seems there was no importance put on it

    By all accounts jackson would have been a natural hw even today.

    I wonder how many "unofficial" fights have happened in this era because of the law? We could have missed out on great match ups including this one!
