Just read on ESPN.com they've come to a deal. It says Oct 4 or Oct 11 on the site. Peter's gonna fight an interim in July then Vit in Oct.

I heard Golota might be getting the shot in July, the chance of the Vitali fight actually happening is like 60/40 to the bad, Vitali is probably just trying to keep his name out there to get more votes come election time, the guy is walking injury.

    Breaking news:

Vitali Klitschko pulls out of title fight against WBC heavyweight champion Samuel Peter because of a broken toe.

Good for Sam to be taking an interim. We all know what's going to happen to Brittley come october.

Vitali will need a miracle to make it through training camp and into the ring.
    it won't happen

    Peter T/KO Golota
    Klitschko T/KO Peter

I'll be rooting for Peter in both fights. I'm highly skeptical that Vitali makes it out of training camp though, but if he does, it's bye bye WBC belt for Peter.

    Peter-Klitschko deal reached!
A deal was reached Thursday for the mandatory fight between WBC heavyweight champion Samuel Peter and champion emertius Vitali Klitschko shortly before a scheduled WBC purse bid in Mexico City. Representing Peter were Don King and Dino Duva, with Shelly Finkel and Tom Loefler representing Klitschko. The fight will likely be held this October in Europe. No amounts were mentioned. Had the fight gone to purse bid, Arena Box-Promotion's Ahmet Öner and OPI 2000's Salvatore Cherchi were prepared to bid.

I think the fight against Golota might look similar to Peter vs. Mcline. However, if the fight does go the 12 rounds, just remember that Golota has only lost ONCE on the cards in his entire long career, against Ruiz - an extremely questionable decision, for anyone that saw this fight. If Golota has the fortitude to withstand Peter's periodic attacks (and let's face it, Mollo was not a real test for that), he will win a UD.

I'll believe it when I see it.
And even then, Vitali will probably trip on the ring steps.

I think Peter takes this one for sure, Vitali's claim to fame is surprising an old and out of shape Lennox Lewis, and with Vitali's ring rust, it's not too much of a stretch for Peter to dominate the fight.

Is it a new thing for Vitali to be represented by US promoters? Seems like he was pretty deeply involved in the German scene before.
