    EastSideBoxing: The IBO champions include the likes of Wladimir Klitschko, Chad Dawson, Jonathon Banks, Nonito Donaire, and Ricky Hatton. How important is it to you personally, and professionally, when the final bell rings Thursday night in Providence, for the referee to put the IBO’s gold and green around your waist?

    Manfredo: It means everything to me. Its everything I’ve been working for since I started boxing as a kid, at age 7. Professionally, that’s the goal you want to reach. It just means everything. I would love to put a word in to my friend, Chad Dawson, a IBO world champion, and I would like to be able to say to him after the fight: "We’ve both done it buddy!"

    I respect the IBO, they have a good ranking system. Well, the best of any other sanctioning body. IMO at least.

    The IBO does computerized rankings. For examle, while Chad Dawson is the IBO champ, they have him ranked # 3 at Lt. Heavy behind Calzaghe and Hopkins. They show no bias toward their title holders in their rankings

    So where's Manfredo gonna be ranked should he beat Bika? Top 20?

    Bika is ranked 8th or 9th, and Mnfredo is somewhere between 15 and 17.

    Got to be Top 10, surely, because Bika is Top 10 for sure! Depends on the level of performances and fairness of the decision.

    manfredo has a lot in common with james toney.

    james toney said basically the same thing about his IBO title as well recently.

    Other than the IBO, Manfredo has NOTHING in common with James Toney - either good or bad!

    i agree

    the ibo has more legitimate champions than the other sanctions but then again they also some of the worse

    I don't see how this is a joke on Manfredo. He's climbing in the ring against a tough opponent and trying to win a belt. Nothing wrong with that. He should be respected for it not ridiculed because it's the IBO.
