the point i was trying to make was.....as mad as it may seem, manfredo jr would have been the toughest fight of froch's career to date. thats a FACT. as he's been in at world level and taken on some gd 168lbrs: lacy, calzaghe, spina, pemberton. he would be the highest ranked/rated oponent of froch's career. how would he have handled it? i dont think he would have blown manfredo away, it just goes to show how far froch has to go on the world stage when ur saying peter manfredo jr is the highest ranked oponent of your career to date and your 31 and 23-0!!!
I got to say im a big fan of manfredo's...ino many ppl will criticise me but i like him n think he's got a lot of potential but like most ppl real disappointed with his losses to calzaghe n lacy..i think he should stay more active fight some more top 20 fighters like green and bika...mayb get another title shot..i'm not sure how he'd do against froch..but to tell u the truth froch hasn't really impressed me either..does anyone know if roach is still training manfredo?
To be fair he should have beaten Lacy instead of starring in a gay porno - perhaps the most boring fight I have seen in the past 12 months.
To be fair Rob, I bet Froch would relish the chance to KO Manfredo within three rounds - there would be the small matter of a post fight presser, in which Frochy could say that Manfredo was KTFO either quicker than Calzaghe, or same time without a referee jumping in too quickly.
it does surprise me that froch is rated this high on esb, look at his record and there is little substance to porve he is world class. robin reid was way way way over the hill and i think mentally lost the plot (b4 fighting lacy he was training in hotel doorways!) other than that brian magee. he does throw hard shots but is hands are 2 low for my likein. what are frochs plans next??? any future oponents?
he hasnt got a shot at anythin, a fight with froch was offered and he accepted, but nothing came of it.
