Do you think he feels pretty sick right now after he lost his title and all that money and has no fight lined up?

He's an idiot and a bright example of a 'Haymon slave'.

whenever I think of Quillin, I smile to myself at Haymon's reaction when he saw Lee knockout Korobov

I'm gonna give Quillin a pass for that duck.
Yes...double his best payday, maybe, tripled, but his advisor didn't want him paid for by the competition.
Haymon got him a decent fight vs the better fighter anyways, a regardless of the $$$ at the time, Quillin can STILL GET LEGIT PAYDAYS.

He can beat Jacobs and get a few soft touch WBA defenses, know ur Hearn makes EUBANK more $$$ vs Saunders whether he win or lose to Lee.
Saunders will gladly take the HBO PPV vs GGG as will Lee.

Quillin could as well if he bears Jacobs.
Of course Lee vs Canelo is next if Canelo wins, I'm almost positive that Eubank vs Saunders happens next regardless of Lee Saunders outcome.

Quillin hasn't got the mental toughness though, I mean, he spent the whole second half of the Lee fight afraid to throw punches!

he can't be the brightest either too, I mean he could make some $$$ vs Jacobs and all, but he will never, ever take the Golovkin beating for any amount of money, if he forfeited a title rather than fight his mandatory, I see honestly can see no circumstances other than debts, divorce lawyer's bills or Peter being held at gunpoint, in which he'd fight GGG, even on PPV

Quillin forfeited his title because Roc Nation won the purse bid, and Haymon was getting ready to launch the PBC on NBC, and he wanted Quillin to be a key piece of that. Haymon and Jay Z have been suing each other since Haymon was in the music business, so Haymon didn't want to help Jay Z get his boxing business off the ground.

Considering that Quillin walked away from a title and his biggest payday, and because we know how Haymon likes to overpay boxers, there's no doubt in my mind Haymon just paid Quillin (probably the same amount/maybe more than he was supposed to get for fighting Korobov) to just walk away.

And Haymon said you can fight for the title again in your next bout.

That scenario has always made more sense to me than Quillin just walked away from his biggest payday with nothing. They probably couldn't publicize it because it would've likely been considered "tampering" of some sort - since the purse bid had already been won by Roc Nation.

Because Quillin kept quiet about the whole thing. He remained loyal. He never complained. His wife (who was about to have a baby) never complained. And Quillin took less money for the Lee fight than he would've against Korobov.

So I'm sure he got paid for the fight he didn't take. I'm sure most of the fighters who work for Haymon know that, too, because you'd think some of them would raise of a few eyebrows over the situation.

That has always made more sense to me than he just walked away. I'm sure Quillin got paid handsomely for giving up his belt and not taking the Korobov fight. Don't kid yourself.
