ya how can you call him useless when he knocked out hasim rahman twice! seriously, peter definitely has his hands full with maskaev and i think he will underestimate maskaev and get ko'd

Let's see if Peter can get by Maskaev, first.

That's going to be a tall order, right there.

But if Peter does manage to take Maskaev's title, Vitali will be the roadblock in Peter's road to unification.

But I think Maskaev will be a harder fight for Peter than most seem to think, and I am leaning towards Maskaev to decision Peter.

Povetkin > any versions of Sam Peter. It's just a question of time....Unfortunately Povektin is not yet part of the top 10. Soon though...

Peter will be closer to reaching gatekeeper status than unified heavyweight champ two years from now.

yes, but it appears Zakman is on the Peter express, if he manages to get by Oleg he will be pummled by vitaly and that's going to be a great fight I'm looking forward to.

I think Peter is pretty overrated

Peter is incredibly limited. He's slow, plodding, flat-footed, wide punching and has no defense. People say he's improved, I don't buy it. Toney has looked shot to pieces in his lost two fights including the Peter rematch, and looked lackluster against an equally lackluster Hasim Rahman before the first Peter fight. The only fight where Toney has looked halfway sharp in his last 4 fights was the first one against Peter, where many of us thought he deserved to win. In the second rematch, Toney looked completely shot, his reflexes were gone. Peter fans can hype it up all they want, I don't put great stock in a young, fresh heavyweight winning a couple fights against a faded, overweight ex-middleweight without much power, and struggling mightily to do so in the first fight

Wlad will outbox Peter even more comprehensively in a rematch, or even knock him out. It won't even be close

If Vitali comes back and is 85% of what he was before his retirement, he'll beat Peter too. A plodding, flat footed, wide puncher with no defense is tailor made for Vitali's straight and accurate punches. Vitali will disfigure Peter's face badly and stop him or win a wide UD if he's anywhere near where he was

I love these hindsight dig ups.

Some here were sooo sure Peter would be the next big thing in boxing, and now some are even calling him a bum.
Of course he's neither, but it's still funny.
