You just said that the likes of Maskaev and Meehan would beat him though didn't you? List the heavyweights you pick to beat Haye.
Maskaev has faced and KO'd much better opposition than Haye has ever faced. Prediction: Haye eats left hook...goes down and stays down in the 3rd round.
And been knocked out by that better opposition, Haye actually won more than a "WBC Strap", Haye was universally recognised as the Number 1 aka Numero Uno aka the main man at Cruiser. Maskaev is basically a journeyman whos been knocked out everytime he stepped up in class except when he beat that bum Rahman who made a career out of 1 punch.
Wlad K Vitali K Sam Peter James Toney John Ruiz David Tua Sultan Ibragimov Niko Valuev Shannon Briggs Lamon Brewster Can I stop now?...my fingers are getting tired!!
Exactly. That's how unsubstantial Haye would be in the Heavyweight division. It's easy to beat up on smaller opposition. Wait till he gets cracked by a true heavy. Lights Out!!
Depends a lot on his stamina. I think its fair to say that for the first 4 rounds, AT LEAST, Haye would be way to fast for Peter, and would definately land some big shots, and probably take little in return. Peter does not have the iron chin that he was known for a few years ago, McCline has shown it up to be crackable. It's not inconcievable Haye could tak him out in the first few rounds. On the other hand as the fight goes on, Haye is likely to tire, become lazier and may just get clubbed into submission. On the other hand if his stamina has improved a little, he could just run away with an easy UD.
Peter knocks out Haye somewhere in the 6-8 round range after he takes a few of Hayes bombs and smiles at him (Peter has an underrated chin imo). Peter is sloppy as **** and slow so he will not land flush until Haye tires, but when Peter lands on Haye; GOODNIGHT.
Right now I'd have to go with Peter by brutal KO. Give Haye some time and lets see how he does at Heavyweight first.
Peter would have everything against him. As well as the speed advantage Haye is taller and has a slightly longer reach.
None of this matters as the American networks will back him to the hilt against the ocean of Boring C.C.C.P boxers and the dross of the American underclass pugs. Oh, and he knocks Peter out in the 8th.
