I believe Ibragimov would beat Peter comfortably. Sultan would be too quick and slick for Peter; he'd move well on his feet, work the angles, score lots of points with his quick jab, and counter well enough to win.

Sultan is a better technical fighter than Peter...he'd get his punches off first. Easily.

There's a pretty good chance that Ibragimov could stop Peter, too. Sultan can punch fairly hard when he's hitting an open target. As the rounds pass, Sultan would start to land the heavy leather and Peter might fall.

And Peter couldn't win this bout by attacking Sultan aggressively either. If Peter tried this, he'd walk right into a heavy punches from Sultan and be driven back or floored.

Oleg Maskaev gave Peter a decent fight for five rounds before falling. Sultan does everything better than Maskaev. He'd beat Peter handily in my book.

I think it would be a bad matchup for Peter style wise, but I dont think Iggy's chin is all that good, he was hurt by the first significant punch Wlad threw in the whole fight, but Wlad hardly followed up after that, Peter on the other hand, is a good finisher, and if he got Iggy hurt, it would be over that round. Before each man fought, I had it 60/40 in favor of Iggy, after both men fought, I have it 60/40 for Peter.

This is a good match for Ibragimov. He is fast, awkward and tricky and dosen't really trade on power, so he wouldn't station himself in front of Peter and get caught as easily as did Maskaev. I think Iggy would be too tricky and awkward for Peter and would relieve him of his alphabet soup title by a decision. This Ibragimov is underrated for sure, just like Peter is overrated.

If RAY AUSTIN could put Iggy on the canvas, Sam Peter would KEEP him there! :nod

Chagaev might give Sam a go but after seeing what Ibragimov did against Waldo I can't give him the edge over Sam.

Ibragimov disappointed me alot. He never went on the attack and seemed content to be controlled by the jab and the right hand which rarely ever came. Sam has developed a nice forceful jab and he also has developed the patience to stay behind it even after being knocked down.

I just don't see Ibragimov doing well here. If he lets Sam pin him like he let Waldo pin him he gets mauled. If he tries to counter, so what? It isn't like his counter left is going to catch Sam by surprise. He expects those kinds of punches and only gets more into the fight after being hit solid.

I expected Ibragimov to show some lateral movement like what Chagaev showed against Valuev. He'd need that against Sam Peter. Without it, going forward and backwards in straight lines means he will either be controlled all night or KTFO.

Peter would win. Saltan to be able to win really needs a guy in front of him that isnt going to do that much. Peter is a pretty active fighter for a big puncher. I think that Wlad could have ended the fight any time that he wanted he was just never willing to go after Saltan. Peter would go after him.

I just dont really want to hear about peter fighting anyone but Wlad. Its time. No Saltan, No Vitali, No anyone other then Wlad.

Ibragimov, easily outboxes him. No great size difference like in the Briggs fight --> more aggressive style, even the stoppage possible (Ibragimov's still hits very hard).

It depends on what kind of shape Peter is in. If it's the Peter who fought Maskaev then Ibragimov will most likely outbox him.

Well it's hard to look good against that *******. Nobody does when he's pulling the huggy bear routine. IMO he should just be DQ'd the moment he puts his arms around his opponent. Just to get it over with then and there without advancing his shitty career.

Chagaev does have good lateral movement though. And against Sam you have to have that.

I went with Peter. Ibragimov has average power, and I don't really see him stoppng Peter from coming forward. I pick Peter by a boring MD, or something.

I agree, Zakman. Sultan coudn't outbox Austin and Austin is easily at least a level below Peter. When did Sultan look so good that makes some people so sure he could UD and possibly stop Sam? I know Sam has his faults, but he's got power and he's taken harder punches than I've seen Iggy throw.
