Why did Don King not attempt to unify the other 3 belts when Vitali had the WBC? King had the WBA (Ruiz) IBF (Byrd) WBO (Brewster) for well over a year and not one ****ing unification fight.

King wanted options on Klitschko because he knew Vitali would have smashed any of his three champions.

So it is Vitali's fault unification never happened when King held 75% of the Heavyweight Belts? Please explain that to me.

Yes it is Vitali's fault. What's wrong with giving King options? Lennox did it and not only unified but made a mint in the process. So long as you aren't dumb or desperate, you can work with Don.

Lennox Lewis always voewd to not work with King as well.... until he had to fight King's guy (Holyfield) to unify.

So he did what a champion does, and used made it happen. He didn't get ripped off by King because he isn't dumb. Vitali is if anything smarter than Lennox so should have no problem negotiating a good deal.

The "no unification because of King" thing is a smokescreen. If Vitali wanted to unify against any King fighter and was willing to give some promotional rights to Don, OF COURSE King would go for it.

Do you think for a second that having Byrd and Ruiz as separate champs made him anywhere near as much money as having a unified WHITE champion would have?

Don has no problem with unifying the titles, he has done it many many many times. As long as it makes money, it makes sense to him. All it needed was for Vitali to even attempt to negotiate. King even wanted to set up a tournament with Vitali and his guys. The Klit camp never even attempted to start discussing it.

You never answered the question. King had 3 of the 4 belts for almost 2 years and did not attempt to make one unification fight. In two fights he could have had a unified WBA, IBF, WBO champion that people like you would have said was the "real" champion at the time. Why was this not done? It had NOTHING to do with Vitali Klitschko.

Even though it wasn't relevant to my original point, I did answer the question if you think it through.

If it makes dollars it makes sense.

    - Ruiz and Byrd were not marketable no matter what belts the hels because of their styles, therefore it makes more money to have them fighting separate title defenses.

    - A unified Vitali would make 10X more than Byrd and Ruiz would on defenses that nobody cares about therefore it would make sense.

    Comprende?

I would ave picked Vitali to EASILY beat Byrd or Ruiz, so he had nothing to lose by making the fights and giving King options.

    IT WAS VITALI'S FAULT.

King even publically stated that he would NOT demand options from Vitali to make unification fights, but Vitali never tested that claim because he never made any attempt to make unification fights.

And like I say, even if King was lying ... SO WHAT? Vitali would still get to unify and would still make millions.
Or if King started asking for options during the negotiations then Vitali would have a legit reason to pull out.

BUT HE NEVER EVEN TRIED. :deal

   The person that never tried was Don King. If Brewster would have came out on top King could have made PLENTY of money with him. Matter of fact he did make plenty of money with Brewster in Germany.

Why do you think Byrd and Brewster BOTH left King? Because he was lying to them and ripping them off.

Klitschko has NOTHING to do with Don King not unifying his 3 belts. We are talking about the same guy that put on such fights as Byrd vs Williamson and Byrd vs McCline. You don't think a Brewster vs Ruiz or Byrd would have been better than those 2 boring of fights? :patsch :rofl

Q: Do you have any news on any other of the heavyweights?

DK: Yes, I want people like John Ruiz, Chris Byrd and even Hasim Rahman along with the Klitschko's and every other heavyweight who thinks they have what it takes to be the champion to take part in a tournament. Lets stop messing around the public, everyone wants to know who the best heavyweight in the world is, the only way we will find out that is if there is a tournament. I am happy to organise that tournament and I am happy to arrange it with all of the world's boxing governing bodies. All it needs is for people like the Klitschko's to agree to it. It is up to you people in the media to help me, Don King, to organise this tournament. It is your job to tell the public this is a good idea. We need to find out who the true champion is.

Why in the hell would you need "other Heavyweights" for a unification tournament? Rahman? What is he needed for he had no belts in 2004. King had 3 of the 4 beltholders unify them and let the winner fight Klitschko or anyone else.

Only TWO fights were needed for unification of his 3 belts yet he wants a tournament with a bunch of other fighter? It was not needed. King is talking ot of his ass. All he had to 2 was have any combination of Brewster, Byrd, and Ruiz fight in two fights and he would have had a WBA, IBF, WBO unified champion. Don King NEVER attempted to do this. Instead he gave us Byrd vs Williamson, Byrd vs McCline, Brewster vs Meehan, etc and a bunch of other GARBAGE fights.

I think Brewster vs Byrd or Ruiz would probably have been better than thise fights, yes. BUT THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE!

The issue is, would Brewster vs Byrd or Ruiz have made more money than separate defenses? Maybe, but not much and then if you have a John Ruiz as unified champ... he is still John Ruiz.

    It's not rocket science. :patsch

For 2 reasons - Vitali was insisting on fighting his mandatory, and Brewster already had a fight scheduled. Whether or not Brewster of Rahman were involded is irrelevant, King wanted to make unification fights for the Big 3 belts.

Regardless, it's there in black & white.

Show me something to back up your claim that Vitali did try to make unification fights. :deal

Or do you agree that he didn't try? :think

    :yep

They were all King fighters and he made ZERO attempt to unify any of his belts. If Ruiz unified he could have fed him to any fighter but King knew other fighters ould beat his Champions so he requested options. He only let his beltholders fight his other fighters in his stable that had no belts so he had nothing to lose.

There was no need for other Heavyweights for a tournament. All that was needed were King's 3 belt holders and Vitali. The fact that King did not even make an attempt to unify his own belts tells me he was not serious about unifying the belts with Klitschko. All he had to to was put on 2 fights and he would have had a fighter with 75% of the Heavyweight belts but he did not even attempt this but you want me to believe that he wanted to feed his fighters to Vitali? If King did not want options Vitali would have fought them.

Hell, Byrd left King and sued him and so did Brewster. Yet you want me to believe that King is straight with his fighters? LOL

Vitali Klitschko had NOTHING to do with King not unifying his 3 belts and that is a Fact.

You said Vitali prevented unification. I showed you where King had 3 of the 4 belts and what you are saying is 100% bull ****. King could have unified his belts he did not even need Klitschko. King NEVER made the attempt.

No I did not say Vitali prevented unification.

I said that Vitali promised to unify, but it never happened.

What happens between Ruiz, Byrd and Brewster is IRRELEVANT and YOU are the one who brought them up.
