Keep in mind that Peter is about an inch shorter than Danny Williams, and Williams was completely ineffective against Vitali's size and fast, powerful counterpunching. And I venture to say that Williams is every bit as skilled as Peter. Peter's head is just at the right height to absorb everything Vitali throws at him. Peter won't be able to get out of the way of anything, given his size disadvantage, skill disadvantage, speed disadvantage, and mobility disadvantage.

Vitali vs. Peter will be a replay of Vitali's beating of Danny Williams. In this one single fight, Peter will be deflated and won't ever be seen as a world class, upper tier heavyweight, again. Vitali has every quality to make Peter look like a rank amateur, in comparison...........Peter's career will take a huge downturn, after this single fight, as Vitali will make him look that bad.

After this fight, if you think Peter's aura has already been deflated by McCline and Wlad, wait til Vitali gets ahold of him. Peter's stock will fall like a rock, after the beating he'll take in this one fight.

    Count on it.

Vitali's chin will be tested, if the sparring stories are true of him getting floored a couple times, will find out when he get in the ring with big punching Peter, Vitali lives off his loss against a well past his prime Lewis and his wins over Journeymen fighters like Sanders and Williamson, it will be almost 4 years since Vitali has stepped in the ring, I think it's pretty safe to say he's going to look worse now than he did then. Peter will pressure him and make his weak body collapse, I see Peter getting him out of there by the 5th round.

Peter won't last past 7 rounds, and that is being generous.

Vitali walks around at fighting weight all the time, and he's professional enough and intelligent enough to prepare for this fight in every way possible.
Someone else said that Vitali has the great benefit of having the best heavywieght in the world to sparr with and to guage where he is at, compared to where he was in 2004.

He'll be ready; well trained, well conditioned, well sparred, and out to reestablish his name as the premier heavyweight destroyer.

Here are a couple things Vitali said regarding the fight

Sam Peter hasnt impressed me a bit against Maskaev.I didnt see his huge firepower. He is very heavy and doesnt move that quickly.Maskaev connected with some telling punches which hurt him. I will use my jabs and my right straight hand against him. I respect him, but I can also see his weak spots. I know my weak spots. I will try to take advantage of Peter 's weak spots. My height and my reach are important factors.

I know that Peter wants our encounter to be staged in his native Nigeria, but I am not happy about it. We will do whatever we can do in order to stage this fight in Germany, but it is difficult to negotiate with Sam's promoter Don King. Anyway! Our encounter will take place either in July or shortly after the olympic games.

The fight is apparently being negotiated, now, according to Dan Raphael.

That's a superb analysis from Vitali. The fight should happen in the USA somewhere, for the sake of the heavyweight division.

Vitali is basically a stylistic nightmare for Peter. In his prime, he would have stopped this version of Peter (the one with a dentable chin) in 5 or less. I question how much he has left though after years of inactivity. If he can get through training camp okay with no problems, I'd pick him in about 7 rounds.
