The Nigerian Nightmare needs 50/50 for the fight to happen end of ****ing story! Peters is the one who is a former World Champion and Heavyweight superstar.
I dont blame Peter for asking for this. Most people will be watching Adameck as he is the guy who seems to be going places.Peter is on his way to retirement and is trying to get as much out of his last few fights as he can, nobody can fault him for that.
Adamek is also a former champion. The difference is Adamek has never been stopped, and is a fighter on the rise, whereas Peter is a fighter on the decline. I think it should be 60-40 for Adamek. His only loss is a decision to Chad Dawson in America.
50-50 is completely unreasonable, unless that's what the sanctioning body is mandating. 60-40 I could maybe see, but even then Peter's getting a bit of a windfall. In terms of money, Adamek brings a LOT more to the table than Peter.
If I understand it correctly this would be a tournament for the #1 position to fight IBF Champ, at this moment its Wladimir Klitschko. Adamek vs Peter Chambers vs Rossy so if Adamek wins against Peter he would fight the winner of Chambers Rossy.
Peter may suprise you all yet. Do not sleep on this fight Peter is in better shape of late than he has been for the past 5 years and will be Adamek's biggest test. 50/50 is fair since a win will catapult Adamek's resume in the HW division. Think of it as a marketing budget.
I agree, its not unreasonable. I read the title of your thread, and was going to post something similar to what you already did. In truth Peter is a step up as a HW for Adamek and should be treated accordingly.
The loss to Dawson was an awful loss, and now looks worse than ever. Peter has only been stopped by 2 fighters that I have no doubt would stop the heavily hyped Adamek
I agree with most that 60/40 is fair. Adamek is the draw in the country, and is coming off wins. Peter is a former champ and a serious stepping stone for Adamek if he wins. 50/50 if it was in neutral territory. How much is the fight estimated to bring in? If it's a lot, $150,000 is an insult. To be fair.
...undeservedly. Peter at least had the two wins (one disputed, one clear) over Toney before he got his title shot. Arreola was still miles away from deserving his...or a top ten ranking (even as bad as the division is/was). By the time he fought Adamek he was essentially coming off a loss in said undeserved title shot - which means he was in the same position as Peter is now (unless you count a win over a ridiculously outsized cruiserweight, which you shouldn't).
