He spent most of the night on the backfoot. No initiative to establish a jab. Didn't step into the jab and didn't put right hands behind the jab. Didn't get low. Didn't work the body once he was close. This amateurish bob and weave routine is all he did all night. And when he threw punches they were so contorted (because he was off balance) he was completely ineffective throwing them.

Basically all the wrong things you could ever do against Vitali. Sam stood up to Vitali's best shots for 8 rounds before quitting on his stool. No excuses. It was an atrocious approach to winning this fight.

Borderline top 10. And that's only because the division as a whole is something awful.

But don't sweat it. Obviously as I told some in PMs we cannot fight for these guys. I saw talent in him but having it and utilizing it are two different things. Sad truth is he has too big of a chip on his shoulder to listen and he surrounds himself with people not because of where they can get him but because he feels safe around them and they don't push him hard.

This is just like when Williams was embarrassed by Quintana. Things like this should not happen but boxing is in such a state of disarray that shitty performances go on excused. Give it a few months. One knockout over a bum and Sam Peter will be right back in the picture. Honestly it disgusts me.

If any one of us did as awful at our jobs as Sam Peter did at his last night we'd have been fired on the spot. We didn't even get to see a competitive bout last night. We saw a complete shutout. A shutout from a guy 37 years old, 4 years out of the game. That in a nutshell tells you how awful Sam Peter is.

Vitali was able to be the aggressor that he naturally is

    and unlike his brother,

he went in to hurt him without the regard of getting hit.

peter is overated and is no champion but I'd still say he'll give other fighters a good 12 rounds.

He wasn't even the same Peter from the Wlad fight.. though that ain't saying much. The guy seemed to show up just to eat punches.

  11. The Peter that fought Wlad was way better than the Peter that fought Vitaly:patsch Peter is 20lbs overweight, sluggish from being to fat, he is slower, and had no focus or desire against Vitali, he's needs to lose weight, get a new trainer, and start fighting with more Heart if he wants to continue his career?? Vitali was keeping his hands so low it looked like he was toying with Peter, like a sparring match..
