The two fights were incredibly similar to me. - The "superior boxer" going to the other's home-town. - The home-town fighter getting slightly beneficial treatment from the referee. - The "superior boxer" getting out-worked on the inside, and constantly whining to the referee when things got going. - The home-town fighter out-working and ultimately beating his foreign opponent despite being limited athletically, compared to his opponent. Cry all you want Khan fans, but your man was no different then Dirrell when he went to Nottingham several years ago...A whiny dude who wasn't ready for the intensity his opponent was gonna bring at him.
Ha yeah, because the KD that Khan was credited for was completely legit. A ****ing forearm and a trip that would have been a yellow-card if he was playing for Bolton.
I think Peterson managed to land things besides rabbit punches for the majority of the fight, so the analogy seems to fail.
Khan vs Peterson was a barnburner. Froch vs Dirrell was a stinker. They were only alike on 3 things... the homefighter won, the chasing fighter won, it was a close fight.
Dirrel won that fight clearly, and those 2 Khan knock downs were trips/pushes. Upsets happen in Boxing.
Khan - Peterson was a draw if u ask me ...Dirrell didnt beat Froch either, allthough he showed his "feline quickness" Andre ran all night , stinking up the place ...constant holding, dropping/diving to the floor, complaining to the ref, no heart etc etc
Don't really see the comparison aside from the circumstantial. Both guys had better fights in Khan-Peterson than in Dirrell-Froch. Dirrell got slammed. Not a word. Neither of the 1st rd instances where Peterson went down were legit. The only similarity was that neither Dirrell nor Khan should have had the point taken away late in a close fight IMO, although both were guilty of what they were penalized for. Ridiculous post. You should take it back. This.
One difference: Lamont Peterson landed lots and lots (and lots) of punches. Froch didn't land a single meaningful punch in the entire fight against Dirrell.
