Peterson looked terrible

i dont know how you draw that conclusion . it only lasted 3 rounds and he caught / dropped in round 2 i think . It was pretty much all Mattysee after that. He couldn't deal with the power . I'm curious how Alexander , judah and other guys were able to soak up mattyse's punches though.

 

Peterson isn't at his best when he's trying to box and be slick. He went down twice vs Khan while trying to be slick and even Kendall Holt was getting the better of him from the outside. Peterson is best with his high guard applying pressure and going to the body.

We all know that's not a good gameplan vs Matthysse though and Peterson has been dropped plenty of times in his career even to Timothy Bradley

 

PED withdrawl or getting hit with thunderous shots had something to do with it.

 

He's got a glass jaw, and it was shattered. Period, end of story.

 

I gave him round one, and then for some reason, he threw it out the window and decided to bang with Mattheyse. Big mistake.

 

peterson is a brawler/pressure fight but for some reason hunter makes him box

 

Simple, they had better defense and Alexander's got a great chin

Lamont's chin has is quite noticeably shaky, he's been hurt against pretty much every world class opponent that he ever faced including feather-fisted-Bradley... And the thing about Peterson is, when he's hurt, he's with you on the inside... Judah and Alexander stayed defensive so Matthysse couldn't land enough solid shots...

If they stood they got caught with the same punch Lamont did, both would have met the same fate

 

He looked fine until he got hit. In fact, he looked pretty fine when he got up from the first time. Getting hit over and over is what made him cave.

A brawler is not necessarily a pressure fighter. Peterson is a boxer puncher who outboxes more dangerous opponents and pressures the quicker and more mobile opponents. Neither worked in this fight.

 

I'm sure it had Nothing to do with that maniac coming at him with one punch KO power lol

 

It's funny now how people on this forum are saying peterson had a bad chin but before last night he had a solid chin

 

his chin is bad, but his recovery is good. I expected at least 2 early KD's in the fight, but I thought he'd get up from them and continue to lose a decision

 

:deal This has been a trend in Matthyesses last few fights and for whatever reason whether he forces them or they got overconfident and decide to exchange with Lucas has me abit surprised. Dallas and Peterson especially do okay boxing using their size advantage then decide to trade with the 5'6" Matthysse. Maybe since Lucas was a slow starter they begin to time him and feel he might be too slow and Lucas all of a sudden switches gears.

 

It was all Mattyse, I think. Peterson takes time to get warmed up...he never got the chance.
