Peterson looked terrible

Agree! Peterson didn't look focused, just looking at his body language, etc. He looked like he was in another world mentally, I don't know if there was some distraction he was dealing with leading up to the fight or what, but it makes you wonder. Matthysse just went out and did what he usually did, not to take anything away from him. Expected it to be more competitive.

 

He was getting his rhythm and got timed with a great left hook. Peterson doesn't typically do too well until after the 4th round.

 

Pederson instigated all of the clinches ffs,as soon as Matthysse connected all Pederson wanted to do was grab hold.

 

I had a funny feeling after the fight, from the eye test alone, that wasnt the roided Peterson that beat on Holt, He clearly wasnt on the gear for this fight, how does one look like they are shredded to the gills in one match, then barely has a 6 pack like 2 months later


Although LM did what he supposed to do I truly dont trust the result of the match, why has GB kept Pederson so close and high on the radar after test after test after being roided and ruining a Mayweather opponent, not to mention the dirty test they disappeared for him last fight, he obviously was brought to this tournament to lay down,/job and boost a fellow fighter

 

no way Matthysse is steamrolling Garcia like he did Peterson

 

Alexander's chin is legit he took alot of punches, Judah didnt get hit too much because Matthysse was trying to outbox him instead of knocking him out

He fought a dumb fight. He was having success on the outside by boxing and moving but then elected to stop boxing and stood in front of Lucas. You can't allow a puncher like Lucas to plant his feet. You have to constantly move or be out of range.

 

He cut the ring off on Peterson, and Peterson saw that Mathysse was shooting in from the outside over his shots, so decided to try and smother him while he recovered and worked the body a bit instead of continuing to box ineffectively. That didn't work either and the better man on the night won.

 

I agree the better man won. With that said he fought a dumb fight and was lured into a brawl with the hitting behind the head in the clinch, which pissed him off. He should have kept his composure better.

 

If he hadn't tried to smother Mathysse, he would have just kept getting caught from the outside. He wasn't going to win boxing so he switched tactics. Paulie recognized it was a smart move.
