this honestly just exposed boxing for being as corrupt as people can possibly imagine. He took steroids prior to his fight with khan, and only now do the dirty results emerge, months after the fight took place, on the cusp of a grudge match. what happened to the washington d.c commission? even in the nation's capital, boxing corruption runs deep, perhaps the deepest. these are the issues that will keep boxing forever in the gritty, dark corner of the sporting world. ****'s absurd.

Peterson's attorney, Jeff Fried, issued the following statement late on Monday: 'We have tremendous respect for VADA [Voluntary Anti-Doping Association] and its mission. Lamont, [his trainer] Barry [Hunter] and the entire team emphatically support random drug-testing in the most comprehensive manner possible.

Ironically, it was Peterson who suggested the pair undergo Olympic-style drugs testing in the build-up to the fight.
Speaking in March, he said: 'It's not that we think Khan is cheating or anything. It's just that there are people who are out there cheating and they have new methods of cheating.
'And we do urine tests all the time so why not take blood tests and make sure everyone is safe in the ring.'

I'm talking about there response. They are saying something he took gave him a positive test. They are not saying they used PEDS before the last fight.

Strip him off the titles and ban him for a year.

How were Chisora's antics in the post-fight press conference any worse than this? And Chisora got his freaking lincense revoked indefinitely. :-(

No wonder Top Rank was so eager to sign him before this fight was made. He'd have fit in well over there.

Maybe, maybe not. That was a terribly stupid thing for them to say publicly at this point. So far the accusation seems pretty specific in terms of it being synthetic testosterone.

VADA waited until the B sample had been tested. I'm sure their protocol requires them to be pretty certain of their results before releasing them. Almost every athlete does a complete denial. How many have been vindicated later? I can't think of any but there are some that finally 'come clean'.

    It's not possible.

If so, Peterson's team must be the stupidest to ever grace the sport.

Yes but prior to that they said they were working with a Pathologist. So it is obvious to me that they feel he took something that gave him a false positive. Remember VADA uses a urine sample in Carbon Isotope ratio testing. There is room for error. We should just wait and see before we judge.

I don't care about Lamont, I'm just talking about the science behind it all. There is room for a false positive. A or B sample wouldn't mean a thing. They would both be consistant.

    Yes.

I mean, it looks bad, don't get me wrong. But in typical ESB fashion we're ready to condemn straight away. The most irritating thing for me is that only a few weeks away, we now have potentially lost a very anticipated rematch. If once we have all of the facts, and there's no route out for Lamont, then **** him.
