Petition to the WBA

Another big problem with unifying belts is the problem of mandatories of different organisations. It was a lot easier when you had one belt, one champion, and then you fight top contenders without having to worry about losing some of your belts. The thing with the WBA is that yes it lets their champion keep their belt while possibly fullfilling obligations to another org. The whole politics of boxing is just wrong.

 

What is there not to buy? its a fact not an opinion. Take for example Juan Diaz. He is WBA, IBF, and WBA champion. The WBA gives him super champion status, which allows him to fight other fights without having to fear being stripped of his title. Meanwhile they give the regular title to the other contenders in their division, which they have to do because if not all the other people fighting to move up the rankings would see their efforts go to waste. If the WBA didn't do this, Juan Diaz would have to fight 3 mandatories per year.

There's nothing to buy. it is what it is, the unified champs are probably the ones who are most happy with this rule.

 

I think the WBA are demeaning boxing with this super champion policy. Its all about money, lining the WBAs pockets. There a disgrace.

 

because they stil have cassamayor as their champ at LW instead of juan diaz. hahahaha in saying that though the ring magazine has a lot more credability than any of the four sanctioning bodies...........**** them all. :good

 

If anything was to happen, It would have to come from the Fighters themselves. If the Boxing community did what the Darts players did then you would see real change.

The Darts world split in the Early 90's with the top 16 splitting from the BDO. They organized their own championship and ever since the top class darts players that have come through have automatically switched to the Newer PDC.

If the top fighters actually understood that they have far more power than they think, then change might be possible.
