The gym was such a landmark in downtown Brockton that in 1999 city officials changed the name of the street to gym was located at from Ward Street to Petronelli Way. Aside from the former middleweight champ Hagler, many other notable fighters trained at the gym. Former super middleweight titleholder Steve Collins trained there. this was my gym for a mere 9 months and i was one of the lucky ones to actually train wit riddick bowe and kevin mcbride cause they were both there at the same time and you cant forget about rockin robby sims and tiger which was marvin haglers main sparrin partner in house and it was shame to see them basically get bought out because they wanna jack up the rent on them goody is a good guys and became almost like a father figure to me i love those guys and petronellis gym may be gone but never forgotten.

Great news the gym is still where it has always been. I tried to get a quick 30 seconds out of Kevin Mcbride's time. To teach me a combo. He tell's me hit left, right, and then smacks me in the face lol. Lesson well learned haha
