Why does Henderson put the sole of his foot against the cage post like that just before Pettis throws the kick? I havn't watched this fight by the way and only just found out about this kick. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH7oRb5Knjc[/ame]
yeah i find it suspicious how henderson taps his foot against the cage to signal him for the kick. i dunno, though.:blood
how the **** you stage something like that? you mean the whole fight was a work? if so, why didnt henderson go out cold to lose by ko instead of securing a leg and hanging on for dear life? their is no guarantee that the judges would see it one way based off of one kick! why am I even taking this seriously is the real question.
Okay, if you're confused, I get it. No big deal. If you seriously think that this was staged or anything of the like...well, either you're, as I said above, confused or ******ed. This is a trick used in combat sports (couch potatoes pay attention) to assess where one is in the cage. He needs to know where he is relative to the fence so he knows where and how to move and not get trapped or throw his body weight back expecting to land on his feet only to find the cage there pushing him forward or tripping him up thus causing him to either fall or stumble. That's all. Please stop this nonsense.
His back was against the fence, for a few full seconds with his opponent a good distance away (no location confusion or trapping) before he dropped his hands slightly and very flatly put his foot behind him. What you say makes sense except for the fact that it was done so blatantly and without any relevant purpose. As soon as he did that, he moved away at the right angle and Pettis went for the move. It was a sweet move, credit to him, and I'm not saying it was a fix, but looking at the video, the foot placement doesn't match up with the motivations you're explaining it with.
The more I look at it the faker it looks. After the guy puts his foot against the wall he just moves into 'position' and Pettis just runs in with no fear of being tagged and performs the kick. It looks as fake as hell, no too ways about it.
i'm shocked that so many people think the Champion with everything to lose faked getting kicked in the head in the last minute of a extremely close war.
