Very little standup and striking in general as Basahel dominates the ground game. Good to see amateur MMA actually producing and polishing talent. Dana White is an idiot for not backing amateur MMA.
De Santis nearly submits Shields via armbar but Claressa is saved by the bell. Credit to Shields, she fought to survive.
De Santis completely gassed in the first round. Shields scores with the occasional flurry. De Santis takes Shields down but Shields gets back up. They spend the last minute of the round against the cage. Shields lands some clean body shots to finish the round. Shields is landing nearly at will vs a 1-2 35 year old soccer mom and her punches are barely having an effect.
Shields dominates the first half of the 3rd as De Santis is completely gassed, only to get taken down and dominated in the second half. Shields might take another L here. Absolutely pathetic. She is simply too delusional to improve in MMA.
29-28 Shields 29-28 De Santis 29-28 to the winner by SD CLARISSA SHIELDS! Commentators are saying that Shields has improved massively. Shields is crying.
Aaron Pico is a beast. He was pushed too hard early by Bellator almost derailed his career, but I think greatness awaits him one day.
It got messed up a bit with injuries, but honestly it's not too far from the mark - which is shocking considering what an important milestone event that is and this is small time by comparison. UFC 300 is a serious disappointment. 299 is way better than 300 that's for sure. Dana is definitely scared and seething. First time in well over a decade that the UFC has competition again.
