And for the record, i thought Spinks won the fight. He won more rounds. So in that sense, you can say robbery. But i can also see judges liking the guy who lands the harder and cleaner shots throughout.
DOn King? That rascal set everyone up AGAIN!!! Well at least this time? He used LUBRICATION!! He didnt make anyone pay 49.96 to witness this robbery. This content is protected This content is protected Should known there's nos such thing as a Free Lunch:rofl Thanks DK :nut :nut :nut
I want this wrong to be righted! Of course I've said that over every recent robbery and not one has resulted in a rematch.. Except Toney-Peter II, but Toney just took a big fat dump in that one.
Damn ... thats a shame ... you might get an immediate unification bout between phillips and forrest ... I won't be watching that garbage and I doubt any tv networks pick that up.
Pay for a rematch? If you were dumb enough to shell it out? I'm sure Don it'd be happy to stick you up again:yep Its a damn shame!! He ruins a good move with a free fight in a overly PPV world and rams it in HARD:-( :verysad
Who paid this boxrec writer? In a mild upset, Verno Phillips took the IBF Junior Middleweight title at age 38 from champion Cory Spinks, who lost his second straight split decision. In a highly competitive fight for all twelve rounds with many good exchanges in center ring, the southpaw Spinks was clearly the busier of the two fighters, landing many crisp right jabs and occasional lefts. Phillips counterpunched well though, landing many power shots on the inside that kept this fight extremely close. Spinks was more aggressive over the first six rounds, with Phillips coming on after that. Phillips best moment came near the end of round seven, when he landed a left right right that backed up Spinks. There was also some furious in fighting in a corner and on the ropes in round 8. The fight appeared even, and the crowd booed in the later rounds when it became a tight defensive war. Both fighters appeared in excellent shape in a drawish fight which appeared to be able to go either way.
man Phillips was very tired and was on the verge of falling out of exaustion - his balance was terrible
