Spinks is not a rich boxer. His pops went down on the bad side of boxing. I know this **** got to hurt b/c this is his job, his life. There is no retirement funds in this ****. I had a feeling he is being black balled out of the ring. If you are a veteran like him with no real marketability then you have to get with a click like Golden boy who was able to help fighters in the same boat.

 

Yeah, I mean, look at Casamayor, who's now enjoying new fame with the help of Golden Boy.

 

I'm officially on the Spinks express - he did exactly what all the haters and complainers had been crying for so long for him to do, and that's trading punches right in the pocket for damn near the whole fight...a style that absolutely does not favor him and creates all sorts of dangers for him, took some really clean blasts to the skull, and still manages to win even fighting against type, in a style he's not comfortable with - and then he gets screwed over, possibly (probably?) by his shady promoter. Dirty, dirty business. Regardless of your attitude toward the guy before tonight, the fact that he fought to win, and won, but got deprived of the decision has to override any generally dispassionate feelings toward the guy or his usual style.
