Photo Of The "165lbs" Jeannette V Johnson

Mendoza continually asserts that 27 years old Joe Jeannette ,scaled 165lbs when he last fought Jack Johnson.
Given that Jeannette scaled 185lbs for a fight with Sam McVey less than 5 months later, does anyone think this is likely?

Fifteen months after fighting Johnson ,for which you say he scaled 165lbs ,Jeannette scaled 200lbs for a fight with Sam Langford.:huh

I don't think so, you seem pretty vague about super middleweights at the best of times, usually referring to them as " supper middleweights".


Perhaps you have invented your own weight division,as you have invented so many other things on here? When I showed the measurements of Tommy Burns on another thread , you said that Burns would look average to below average against modern super middles , in many areas .
When I pointed out that Burns was considerably bigger in many areas than several Heavyweight Champions , you did not reply.

Burns had a 3.75" expansion on his chest that's pretty good, a damn sight better than yours I bet.

So Burns had a bigger chest than ,
5 other heavyweight champs.
Bigger biceps than 4 others.
Bigger forearms than. 10 others.
A longer reach than 11 other champs.

The photo was taken in 1914 Jeannette was around 200lbs ,and Johnson over 220lbs!

My fear was Apollack would pre-empt things by pointing out when the photo was taken . I didn't reckon on H.E. spilling the beans. Fortunately Mendoza had committed himself by then.

Jeannette made that claim when he was angling for a title shot with Johnson, its called self- promotion.


Johnson signed to defend against Jeannette several times, outside pressures prevented the fights happening.
