MGM Grand, Las Vegas - A sizable crowd of fans came out to support featherweights Juan Manuel Lopez, and Rafael Marquez, as they stepped on the scale to make weight for Saturday's fight at the MGM Grand. The Puerto Rican fans were in full force and outnumbered the Mexican fans by at least a 3 to 1 ratio. Marquez (39-5, 35KOs) was the first boxer to step on the scale. He came in at a ripped and ready 125.5-pounds. WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (29-0, 26KOs) was also in great shape, and also weighed in at 125.5-pounds.

The super middleweights were up next, fighting in the Showtime-televised co-feature. The first fighter up was Glen Johnson, who returns to 168-pounds for the first time in ten years. Johnson was very, very thin and weighed in at 167-pounds. Allan Green was next to the scale, and came in at 168.5-pounds. Green stripped down to nothing and then made weight at 168 even. Johnson-Green is a third stage bout in the Super Six Boxing Classic.

Johnson hasn't weighed this light in 10 years. And against Dawson, he entered the ring at like..190 lbs? I can't see how he's not drained for this fight.

I could care less about the "Super Six" concept..
But happy with the match-ups it has brought.

Johnson looks super thin. Then again, Green has been weight drained in the past too.

Could this turn into a snoozer with two gassed guys after a couple of rounds?

Johnson is gonna pull this one out. Then Green will turn around and say he was weight drained.

Of course he is. Which is why it's so absurd that oddsmakers had him a solid favourite. Makes no sense, really, when you consider that not only is he 41, showing serious signs of aging in the ring, and also is coming down to a weight he hasn't seen in many, many years. Of course, Green isn't great, either....

This is just a bad fight to bed on because of how the odds are positioned.

Marnoff you have a position on the fight? I liked Johnson until the books made him the fave and like him even less seeing him at the weigh in.

Nah, I didn't take a position in it. There just isn't any real value, I feel.

Road Warrior has this one. He gave Cloud a good fight three short months ago and is only 5 lbs less than he was at that weigh in.

He'll be good to go tomorrow, 116-112.

    Rafa KO5 too.
