MindSmash is an idiot who talks about "flow state" as if he were an expert on such things. One of the biggest Loma nuthuggers out there to boot. A fool loved by fools.
This 1000000x Seriously i dont want to imagine who many guys do their pathetic loma shadow box impression infront of the mirror on this board.
skills are the determining factor between 2 equal combatants. its what makes a weaker man competitive or superior. but the naturally bigger, stronger guy needs less skill to equal the more skilled smaller fighter, or even better him.
Yes that much is pretty obvious but give me some examples of strength trumping skill, and I don’t mean guys fighting above their weight class. There are countless examples of the reverse happening.
Obviously you dont understand boxing cause otherwise you wouldnt think that we are talking about who can bench and dead lift the most. Its simply about athleticism and physique. You guys simply never sparred. I would beat guys at my gym spars that fought on high national level and had 10x as many fights then me, only because I was 2-3 weight class above them. It is not only about power, it is also the fact that their punches just feel like paper to you and you dont have to worry about getting hit and the fact that you can push them around in addition they have to do twice as much work as you cause they got to move all the time otherwise they will be in that awful distance were you can hut them but they cant hit you. also those bodybuilders are simply blown up because of all the roids they are talking to get that big, only a tiny portion of men way more then 200 lbs and are ripped at the same time.
Mayweather was very physically strong for his size. Also avoided Margarito and Paul Williams for a reason. Because they were much stronger and tougher than him.
Pryor Arguello, Pacquiao Barrera, Frazier Ali, Beterbiev Gvozdyk, Lopez Lomachenko, Margarito Cotto. The list is endless. There are many more.
lol Mayweather didn’t avoid Margarito and Baldomir was much stronger and tougher than Mayweather. How did that play out? If you had to choose between being the most skilled or most physical fighter in a division, you would choose most skilled and you know it.
It really depends on what you mean by physical? Does the physicality translate to clean Knockouts? Are these boxers physical? Deontay Wilder Bob Foster Felix Trinidad Thomas Hearns Carlos Zarate
Arum didn’t want to pay Mayweather what he wanted to fight Margarito. I don’t understand this fascination with Margarito. He couldn’t hit Mayweather with a handful of rice if he threw it at him.
I would choose to be the most skilled, but physicality isn't that far behind. There comes a point where your opponent is so much stronger and tougher than you that it becomes extremely difficult to win the fight and you have to be perfect to get the decision. Physicality is underrated here. Skills are the most important, but they are not be all, end all. Not even close.
