In a way they are, but they are also quite fragile. They all have great power, but none are strong or tough.
This. All these guys imagine this world where they can take their unathletic weak asses (I'm one of them too lol) and learn how to box in a textbook manner. And then go in the ring and carve guys up. Then they get in the ring and realize how unbelievably physical and tough a world class fighter can be. Once you realize the other guy is like a piece of iron and won't budge a single inch then you realize how your fantasy comes crashing down.
Pipe-legged Bob Foster at 175 was invincible, in the boxing world that is the definition of Physicality. Di6k Tiger was built to clear his way through Jungles, but it didn't help him when it came to Kinetics This content is protected
Yeah i had that experience so often in sparring. You nail somebody with a text book combo, pop their head with an uppercut in the end and they dont even give the slightest fuk because they are 15 pound heavier then you and 2 inches taller. If people understood that you wouldnt hear all that glass chin bull**** on here too.
Lara list because his legs were gone. Prime Lara beats Hurd based on how he did with no legs. What happened when Hurd fought the smaller, weaker but more skilled J-rocks? He lost
the mauling had something to do with lara losing legs, hurd wasnt up there trying to win with a shadow dancing routine.
Weight bully Hurd scraping an SD over past it Lara where the knockdown made the difference is not a great example. 2 fights later he was soundly beaten by J rock who is about the least physical fighter I can think of. Surely you got better than that.
This. I had a few amateur fights at Welterweight and I was nothing special. I sparred a regional level Featherweight. And he moved quick and fundamentally. He obviously knew what he was doing. But then I started taking some of his shots clean. And it honestly just didn't hurt. I'm not even trying to be a macho tough guy here. Obviously I felt the punches actually land, but it just simply didn't really deter me from going forward. I'm just being real.
exactly the punches just feel like paper, and you can just walk through them and you are also super relaxed because you know that they cant hurt you. Now when I spar a heavyweight all the sudden I turn into the small guy, thats just the way it is.
This reminds me of when I met Arturo Gatti in a casino in Atlantic City. The guy looked like his entire body was carved out of iron. I guess he probably weighed about 160 but his 160 was light years in difference from most 160s.
