There will no doubt be low level fighters in every division who are physically stronger than many of their World level counter parts, but as they, skills pay the bills.

A more skilled fighter can bully a stronger, less skilled guy around the ring anyway by keeping them off balance and disrupting their rhythm, thus appearing to be the stronger man. Even in MMA, where you would expect brute strenght to play more of a factor - that Pudzianowski guy got totally anhialated by Tim Sylvia.

I stand corrected on my previous answers. If were talking pushing opponets around and manhandling, I would stll say Seth Mitchell and probaly Cloud

Yeah thats my bad on that one:lol: ... I responded to the title of the thread, good catch though ... Now I will have to start a new thread dealing with explosive power to make me feel better, lol

Holyfield said he was amazed at how strong Ruiz was. Ruiz certainly doesn't look like that strong of a guy, but looks are often deceptive.

I think it was Hasim Rahman that had a really high bench press. And shane mosley too.

I've read that Rahman throws around 500+ on the bench press. Still very impressive even though he has to weigh well over 250 when he's not training for a fight.

Based on the wording of the original post 90% of the people mentioned here should be tossed out entirely. First we have punching power comparisons which do not equal overall strength. Next he said not p4p so anyone mentioned under at LEAST light heavy isn't going to stand a chance in hell at out lifting or arm wrestling the strongest heavyweights. Finally he also said "today".

Unfortunately it's hard to answer the original question due to lack of enough info on boxers strength training exercises. Even in the ring it would only be apparent with certain styles.

I'm sure it's someone completely unskilled. Olubamiwo is a good shout out. So would be Alexander Ustinov, who I guarantee is stronger than Vitali when it comes to imposing his will. He's just slow as hell and can't box a lick. Demetrius King is also very strong and has made a living out of manhandling guys.

I think I'll go with Ustinov.

He don't look like much, but then again 90% of the guys who participate in World's Strongest Man don't have much muscle definition either.
