I'm not talking about durability or punching power just pure strength. Gman and Pavlik would be my guesses.

I’m thinking Gene Fulmer. Head like a boulder.

Tiger and Hagler. Just try to muscle Hagler backwards. Let me know how that goes for you.

    briscoe did..
A past prime Briscoe made him to change to boxer mode. He looked easily stronger than hagler specially in the early rounds when the stamina was not a factor

He's got to be a consideration for being the strongest, for sure.

Sure I can remember reading something along the lines of Robinson stating that Turpin, had the strength of a weight lifter, very strong guy.

Randolph Turpin immediately springs to mind, I can't think of a stronger middleweight.
Turpin would grapple and bully opponents in close like no other boxer I've ever seen.

Sugar Ray Robinson fought Fullmer and Turpin and said that he 'never fought a man stronger in the clinches than Turpin. He was so strong, he could break both your arms.'

Turpin gets my vote. Here are some examples of his strength:

Someone said he was "as sweet as sugar" when he was an amateur.
