Nah, that was just the smarter tactical move against a significantly slower, aging fighter who could only fight one way. He would not have been pushed around or man handled by any Middleweight in his prime if he felt the desire to fight that way.

He never fought anyone as big or strong as Benn, Benn was able to push back Eubank at times who was way bigger and stronger than Hagler

Benn himself was in awe at haglers physique as written in his 1999 biography.

Its,a good comparison...my gut instinct was hagler ....but than u consider benn used to lift some insane weights,at mw...and of course his army background
In ireland where he yomped mile after mile during the troubles with a heavy load on his back...

Hagler worked in heavy construction himself...no one could physically move him...

    I go with hagler.

Mugabi and roldan were very strong men...briscoe was no joke either

Lou Brouillard as either a welterweight or middleweight. Just look at some pictures of him. He's built like a house.

Exactly. Benn is naturally a bigger man and stronger too

Too many confounding variables to make a strong pick, but I assume it would be one of the many modern welterweight who trains with weights and enter the ring in the 160s.

Unless by “strength” people really just mean aggressively throwing one’s weight around...

Has no one said Robinson?! He was strong as hell, which he showed by competing well with strong good middleweights in his late 30's.

Coz he wasn't that strong. In fact, it's probably his weakest area, physically. In the fights with LaMotta, Basilio, Fullmer, Turpin etc; he was out-muscled constantly.

Basilio is a good candidate for this as well.
