Fighters who are not locks already so dont pick guys like Pacquiao, Holyfield, Wright, RJJ and anyone else who you perceive as an ATG already.

    Now think carefully about this.

Dont just say Benavidez when he hasnt accomplished anything at all. Or pick both Gamboa and JML when they will eventually collide soon. The odds for them to both make ATG status would need both to fight in a very competitive trilogy against each other without the other blowing the other one away.

    Heres mine what are yours?

    1. Wladimir Klitschko - a couple of easy title defense away from jumping into 100 ATG

    2. Pongsaklek WOnjongkam - Arguably already an ATG, but unification would seal it for me

    3. Andre Ward - I expect him to win the super 6 without a loss and beat Bute afterwards

    4. Miguel Cotto - Maybe on the decline of his career but hes really only 1 big win away from getting in for me. The winner of Martinez/Williams or a win over Dziniruk for the 154 ring title and hes in.

    5. Fernando Montiel - My favorite to be the first Mexican to win titles in 4 different divisions.

I think Wlad is the safest pick, although I hate his style. The opposition is as it is, but he keeps beating his opponents one after another, and I agree he'll get there just for being the best of mediocre division for a long time.

It is really a long shot, but I hope Adamek may have some potential here. He already got titles in two division, and his fights were FOTY candidates. Although he doesn't look that spectacular in HW, he still gets the job done, and I can easily see him getting a third title.

Miguel Cotto - as u said, one more big win, his resume is too good
Yuriorkis Gamboa - if he defeats juanma
David haye, if he fights the klitchko's and wins
Jean Pascal - if goes on to retain his title for a while and avenge his loss to carl froch

    - JMM (if he's not one already)
    - Wlad (if he beats Haye, and carrys on defending successfully against whoever's left)
    - Ward
    - Montiel
    - Cotto (IF he beats a couple of top Jr Middleweights)

Well compare Cotto to Marquez. Comparable in resume and comparable in accomplishments. Both three weight world champions, both have signature wins over past prime opposition, and then a host of good contenders to back that up.

Actually yeah, thinking about it they are almost on a similar level. I'd still probably have JMM ahead though (currently). He's been in the game longer, ran Pacquiao (a concrete ATG and more) close twice, and his stint at lightweight will be more impressive than what Cotto can muster at jr middleweight.

Marquez established himself as the man in atleast 1 division. Cotto has yet to establish himself as the man in any division.

    Marquez

    IBF Featherweight champion
    WBA Featherweight champion
    WBO Featherweight champion

    WBO Super Featherweight champion
    WBC Super Featherweight champion

    Ring Magazine Lightweight Champion
    WBA Lightweight Champion
    WBO Lightweight Champion

    Cotto

    WBO Lightwelterweight champion
    WBA Welterweight Champion
    WBO Welterweight Champion
    WBA Super Welterweight Champion

So lets see. Never unified a title. Never declared Ring Champion of any division. And yet Marquez and Cotto are close? You arent swayed because Cotto won 2 vacated titles at light welter and welter and then beat the weakest champion at 154.

    Cotto fans I swear.

I'm not a Cotto fan you clown.

Anyhow, I put more stock in resume and ability than I do all of that unifying nonsense. In terms of resume, ability and accomplishments, Marquez and Cotto are comparable.

Uhh its clear Marquez has the superior resume. He's actually unfied titles and won titles from champions, unlike Cotto who is the vacant title killer. I mean its said when the first champion he beat for a title was Yuri Foreman.

He's also established himself as the best in a division. Infact you can venture to say he was the super featherweight in the world aswell.

I'd pick atleast 4 fighters to beat Cotto at welter and another 4 to beat him at junior middle. The only division you can say Cotto had a crack at being the best was 140, but he never fought Zoo, Ricky nor Floyd.

And ability? Are you kidding me? :rofl

Clear edge to Marquez. All that unifying nonsense lol? So you'd rather put stock in Alphabet soup belts then?

    No they are not.

Marquez arguably beat Pac, while Cotto arguably lost to the likes of Clottey.
