    I`ll start with my 3 favourite Mexican fighters........

    Erik Morales

    vs Barrera I... Barrera II... pacquiao I

    (3 different styles & approaches vs 2 prime, genuine, ATG fighters)

    Julio Cesar Chavez

    vs Rosario... Taylor I... Camacho

    Salvador Sanchez

    vs Lopez II... Gomez... Nelson

    The reason I included Barrera I, Taylor I & to a lesser extent Nelson rather than dominations like Ayala, Haugen or Laporte was to show that these guys had the inner drive of an ATG fighter when asked the ultimate question in boxing, they weren`t only class acts when things were going there way, they were true warriors of the highest order even when their backs were against the wall.

    marvin Hagler.

    1, bennie briscoe
    2, tony sibson
    3 Tommy Hearns.

    introducing a novice to boxing I think Hagler has it all. Hagler was a text book technician from both orthodox and southpaw, move, box, punch and fight. Stance and fluidity was so natural and classic.

    Always thought Randy Sheilds is perhaps Benitez's best Welterweight performance, hes absolutly outstanding. i think it would shade the Hope fight.

    As it is I also really rate the Palomino performance, although others think it was a lot closer. The 14th round is one of the best rounds I have seen in terms of skill though.

    Jimmy Young;

    The guy with not much punching power, aside from that sneaky right hand. Even that was not enough to really knock down top level competition. A nothing left hook. Rarely threw uppercuts. Nevertheless;

    1. Lyle #2. Dominates Ron in this. Far more so than Quarry even. Outsmarted him and feints him all over the place. Leads him all over the place with his footwork as well. Sharp sharp reflexes on display.

    2. Ali. Pre-76, when did you see Muhammad fall in when he missed punches and go off balance? When did you see Ali fall for feints on the outside? When did you see Ali struggle to land 20% of his punches, let alone clean punches.

    3. Norton. Who had better endurance than Kenny for 15 rounds back then? What other heavy absorbs those hard right hands to the body like Young? Those same shots sure took a young Holmes off his bicycle a little while later. How about that sneaky right hand dropping in from the outside on Norton in this bout--man was that thing not telegraphed. All the other heavies around telegraphed punches in 77. Young dropped that same beautiful shot in there and so hard to prepare for, let alone nullify.

    Holyfield, Golota, Tua

    A win over another great fighter.

    A speedy Stoppage and a boxing clinic over two credible contenders.

    Calzaghe

    Kessler - shows Zag's ability to adapt and win over an undefeated prime top class SMW

    Lacy - completely outclassing a power punching machine whom almost everyone picked to beat him

    Byron Mitchell - ability to fight back from a bad knock down
